Tea at the Cannes Film Festival

This is the first Uzbek film that has won the Cannes International Film Festival. The film was submitted online by the director.

"When I sent the film to a contest, I thought it was a contest that was held in Cannes and was not related to the International Film Festival," said Shokir Kholikov.

Shokir Kholikov was informed about this by the organizers of the contest. The film "Choy" was shown at the palace, where 3000 spectators were gathered. There were French-language subtitles for the contest. The film didn’t exceed 26 minutes and told about disabled people.

The director’s film won grand prix at other international festivals in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Brazil, Russia, the United States, and Macedonia.
