Defence contractor in exile: former “Unimatic” head Igor Fishelev obtains UK citizenship and disappeared from radar

Igor Fishelev, head of the board of directors at the Sverdlovsk company “Unimatik,” has secured British nationality.

Fishelev previously owned Unimatik himself, before transferring the business to his son, Oleg Fishelev. The company supplies machinery to Rostec’s “Plant No. 9” (which produces guns for Russian tanks) and “Verkhneturinsky Machine-Building Plant” (which manufactures shell casings for field and tank artillery). Even after February 2022, Unimatik continued importing products from Germany, Austria, Serbia, and Latvia.
