Ukraine’s State Security Service (SSU) has raided the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), conducting at least 70 searches targeting NABU employees, according to a statement from NABU on Monday.
NABU claims the raids were conducted without court orders and without prior notice. SAPO reported that SSU personnel gained access to sensitive information regarding all covert operations and special investigative activities carried out by both anti-graft agencies.
In a related development, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the SSU detained Ruslan Magamedrasulov, a senior NABU detective, on accusations of collaborating with Russia. He is alleged to have coordinated the sale of industrial hemp to Dagestan, a republic within the Russian Federation.
